Foundation/BB Cream Reviews

This is a different style blog to my other ones and I wasn't sure if you would like this sort of thing but I thought I'd try it anyway and see what you guys think! These are the bases I will be reviewing;

Rimmel 'Wake Me Up' Foundation

I think 9/10 of you reading this will have thought about, or actually bought, this product! Many a YouTuber and blogger has raved about it amazing properties and they have every reason to. It claims to 'visibly reawaken and illuminate skin'; I think this is a bold claim but I have to say, the flawless and (very slightly) shimmery finish does give your skin a boost after a few too many late nights and neglected skin days. Because this foundation has full coverage I tend to wear it on a night time or when I want to cover blemishes and redness.

It has SPF 15, which is essential for reducing skin damage even on dull days - it doesn't need to be sunny for UV rays to damage your skin! I got in shade 100 Ivory, which is the lightest shade you can get but it is still a little too dark, hence why I wear it more on a night time. 

An all-round good foundation with a cream paste texture that is perfect for giving a photo-ready face!

Kiko 'Full Protection Stick Foundation'

I was drawn to this foundation whilst on my holiday in northern Italy this summer and have welcomed it into my little make-up family. Again it has SPF 15, which is good but for I would expect Italian make-up to have a higher SPF due to the sun being hotter. Despite this, I love the stick application with its highlighting core that means you don't need a highlighting powder, making it ideal to put in your bag while you're on the go or when you're travelling.

It matches a more yellowy skin tone perfectly, blending seamlessly into my neck. I got it in shade 2 which is the second lightest and I'm glad because even though my tan has faded from my holiday, it still matches my skin really well. Also, it has quite a thin coverage which makes it ideal for hot countries or light make-up days, which we all need from time to time! 

Unfortunately, the only stores in the UK are in London but you can always order online!

Maybelline 'Dream Pure' BB Cream

This is a real favourite of mine and it's been in my collection since the beginning of summer., and with good reason! Its light and liquid texture makes for an easy application and seamless blending. There is a 'Dream Fresh' version for normal skin and the 'Dream Pure' is for people with oily skin.

It has a long list of things it claims to do but I won't bore you with that! I would, however, agree that it is non-greasy and compliments my skin tone. The annoying thing with drugstore BB creams is that they usually just have a light, medium and dark choice of shades but I was pleasantly surprised at how well the light shade went with my skin!

And the winner is...

*drumroll* My favourite base would have to be the Maybelline 'Dream Pure' BB Cream as it ticks all the boxes and lives up to its claims!
